In this session, hear from representatives from various schools how the current trends and research findings in the massage profession may affect massage schools moving forward.

At the completion of this session, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify programs and services current massage school students are looking for in a potential school.
  • Discuss programs and services that all schools can implement in their career services portfolio.
  • Determine how to create a portfolio of services that students need to increase school enrollment.

Dawn A.M. Newman currently serves as the Director of Lakewood School of Therapeutic Massage. She discovered her passion for education after taking her first managerial role in post-secondary education and has managed several different areas of education throughout her career.

Ceena Owens has been a massage therapist for over 25 years and is Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is also a registered nurse and has a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership. Her specialties include directing a hybrid format program to non-traditional students with an online emphasis in science.

Jodi Wiley has been a licensed massage therapist for over 15 years. In addition to being NCBTMB board certified, Jodi is an approved continuing education provider. She has her master’s degree in Kinesiology and has served on the Michigan Board of Massage Therapy, COMTA peer review teams and the AFMTE Teacher Resource Committee.
