IMTRC: Massage and the Whole Health Initiative

1CE credit 1 Lesson Video

Today’s healthcare system often focuses on treating disease and managing services, which can overlook personal motivation and overall well-being. Dr. Gaudet invites massage therapists to explore the shift toward Whole Health—an approach that centers care on the whole person. Learn how this model moves beyond symptom management to support purpose-driven care and how massage therapists can play an important role in advancing this approach.

The Massage Therapy Foundation’s International Massage Therapy Research Conferences (IMTRC) are designed to bring together an engaged massage therapy-focused community of thought leaders, educators, clinicians, and researchers as well as other allied health practitioners to discuss recently completed and ongoing massage therapy research. This session was originally presented at IMTRC 2025. For more information, please visit the Massage Therapy Foundation.

At the conclusions of this session, attendees will be able to:

  • Introduce Therapists to the Whole Health Initiative
  • Learn how to use the model to move beyond system management
  • Learn how to engage in purpose-driven care
  • Implement Whole Health thinking into practice
