IMTRC: Understanding BraveNet Outcomes: The Role of Practice-Based Research Networks

Author(s): Jeffery Dusek

1.5CE credits 1 Lesson Video

Clinical trials help explain what can work in practice, while practice-based research shows what does work in everyday care. Practice-Based Research Networks (PBRNs) support this work by collecting data on the effectiveness and safety of complementary and integrative health approaches as they are used in real-world settings. BraveNet Director Dr. Jeffrey Dusek shares findings from multi-site studies focused on pain, stress, and wellness, and discusses how these results are helping inform patient care.

The Massage Therapy Foundation’s International Massage Therapy Research Conferences (IMTRC) are designed to bring together an engaged massage therapy-focused community of thought leaders, educators, clinicians, and researchers as well as other allied health practitioners to discuss recently completed and ongoing massage therapy research. This session was originally presented at IMTRC 2025. For more information, please visit the Massage Therapy Foundation.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Explain what a PBRN is
  • Learn how to get involved with Massage Net
  • Learn how PBRN's inform client care
  • Understand the importance of PBRNs
