Portia Resnick PhD, ATC, BCTMB has 20 years of experience in the sports medicine field. After successfully partnering in a massage therapy practice for eight years, Portia returned to school to pursue her PhD in Kinesiology. In addition to teaching, Portia is currently collaborating on research projects on topics ranging from biomechanics to body composition.

Steve Jurch, ATC, LMT has over 20 years’ experience as a massage therapist and athletic trainer. He serves as director of health and human services at Community College of Baltimore County, in Maryland. He has a master's degree in sports medicine and authored a clinical massage textbook.

Cynthia Ribeiro has a degree in physical education, studied surgical nursing and graduated from two massage school programs. She founded the Western Institute of Neuromuscular Massage Therapy, and was appointed honorary clinical professor at the University of California-Irvine Medical School in 2003. Currently, she is advanced program developer and instructor at the National Holistic Institute. She is a past president of AMTA.
